The goal of The Society of Master Impressionist is to be instrumental in fostering interest in the beauty of representational painting. You are encouraged to participate in developing public awareness by creating excellent paintings and exhibiting in national and regional SMI competitions.

ELIGIBILITY: All Artists working in one of the three recognized mediums:  Oil, Watercolor and Pastel.  All subjects, in any representational style, will be considered. Original work only. Copies from other artists or published material will not be accepted. Each member will receive newsletters and one color catalog from the National Show.

Associates (Including Charter Associates) must be juried in by the Committee with slides or photos. Individuals then become eligible to jury for all regional shows in their area and national shows.

Signature Associate Status is conferred by the Committee upon individuals who consistently demonstrate high quality work and have participated in three National SMI Shows. Participation does not have to be consecutive.

Master Signature Associate Status is conferred by the SMI , according to the exceptional merit of work and accomplishment in the field of art.

Supporting Associateships is for individuals/organizations and for SMI member artists interested in providing additional support to SMI. Individuals who have not obtained the Associate or Signature status through the current membership process will not be eligible to participate in shows unless juried into another membership category.

CHARTER ASSOCIATE REQUIREMENTS (FOR NEW APPLICANTS)
[   ] Check for $100.00 which includes two entry fees to the first national show (Frist200)
[   ] Two 35-mm slides and a photographs with name, title, and size on each for each submitted entry

ASSOCIATES REQUIREMENTS (FOR NEW APPLICANTS)
[   ] Annual dues check for $60.00
[   ] Two 35-mm slides and a  photograph with name, title, and size on each submitted artwork entry – Please, do not send portfolios

SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP: (For individual/organizations and for SMI artist associates interested in providing additional support to SMI– THIS IS IN LIEU OF DUES FOR ARTIST ASSOCIATES.
